About
After nearly 30 years in education, I have no doubt that all the different paths I walked upon led me to building my home and career in the beautiful Garden Island of Kaua‘i.
My parents moved from San Francisco to raise their family, and I was the first of our little clan to be born in the East Bay. My baptism into the world of education began as a college student teaching in the Summerbridge program in San Francisco. I was hooked. I spent my undergraduate and graduate years in New York City, ending my time there with my MA in Education Administration from Teachers College at Columbia University.
As Head of School of Island School in Līhu‘e, I humbly hold the duty to lead a dedicated team of administrators, teachers, students, and families in a Pre-Kindergarten - Grade 12 context to bring to fruition the school’s mission: Educating the mind, Inspiring the heart. Preparing Kaua‘i youth to lead lives of significance. Previously, I served as Assistant Head of School and Head of Middle School at The San Francisco School from 2017-2023 and as a teacher, administrator, and residential faculty member during my 14-year tenure at The Athenian School in Danville, CA. Before my time there, I worked at Castilleja School in Palo Alto, The Dalton School in New York, Sacramento Country Day, and Friends Academy in Long Island.
At home I am a partner to my husband, who is also is an educator, and a mom to my two boys, one in college and one in Middle School. I am an avid cook, love a good novel, and paddle with my outrigger canoe club whenever I can.
